Language Training

Why To Learn The German Language ?

Germany has a rich culture, long history and belongs to the leading industrial nations in the world. People in more than 40 countries speak German. In Florida it is the most important foreign language after Spanish.

Germany is the fourth largest country in area in Europe and offers, from the coast in the north to the albs in the south, a wide variety of beautiful landscapes. Munich, Hamburg or Berlin are modern cities with international flair, famous for their historical  monuments and elegant shopping arcades.

German is easy to learn because it is historically related to the English language and shares many words and grammatical structures.

Our Language Training Philosophy:

There are many different methods on the language market used to teach and learn foreign/new languages. Each of these methods have  distinct advantage and disadvantages.

The Direct Method

is  the most effective method and also known as the oral or natural method. It is based on active involvement of the learner in both speaking and listening to the new language in situations of the daily life. 'Speak and correct’ leads to faster improvement than the attitude of 'speak perfectly the first time’. The process consists of a step by step acquisition of grammatical structure and vocabulary. The learner is encouraged to think in the target language and to use the language. Each lesson and class builds on what you have already learned. The Direct Method gives the learner the ability to communicate quickly because the student is encouraged to be active during the language practice

When it comes to the question group learning or individual learning, there is only one answer:

One-To-One Tutoring

It is the method of choice for learning a new language with a live language instructor. One-to-one-tutoring gives you the opportunity in developing your capability to speak, understand and write within a short time. It allows you to communicate quickly in your new language. Using this method, your language teacher has the opportunity, as focused on only one ( maybe 2 or 3 ) student, to deal with the personal language needs of each individual student. It gives you  the best guaranty of making quick progress in your new language.

How long Does It Take To Learn A Language ?

Almost everybody who is thinking of learning another language ask this question. Of course the answer is important because it directly refers to the time commitment and the occurring costs.

The answer is “ it depends” ! There are a lot of factors that take influence like:

  • What method do you use? Learning from a person is far superior than learning only with books.

  • What is your current capability in the language? For example: People who have already language knowledge in their target language; this means that less time is needed to reach their goal.

  • What is your goal? Most people have the goal of being able to participate in a business or social conversation. In some cases a student however wants to reach a superior level.

  • How often will you take classes? The more exposure to the language you have, the faster you learn.

  • How hard will you work? Learning another language means the need for work on the part of the student.

  • What is your ability to learn? Some people grasp a new language quickly. Others may be less gifted in learning languages.

  • How effective is your trainer?  Just because a person can speak a language does not mean that he or she is a good teacher. A good trainer knows how to train and to motivate.

Considering the above factors it is not possible to give you an exact number of hours. However, experience has demonstrated that about 75- 100 hours of individual training is needed to take an average student from a beginner to an advanced level.
